Project Citizen Volunteers Honored
At this weeks City Council meeting Councilman James Haley presented plaques to City Manager Manoj Vyas and Councilman Terry Moya honoring their contributions to Project Citizen. The project offers Arizona students the opportunity to learn about shaping public policy and participating in government by creating a political action plan to address a public policy issue in their community. Student public presentations are evaluated by civic-minded community volunteers. Councilman Haley teaches at Holy Angels School and is heavily involved in the all volunteer project as well. Haley says the Holy Angels sixth, seventh and eighth grade classes all performed exceptionally well.
