Miami Hardscrabble Program to Discuss 'Lost Treasures and Spanish Gold'
Lost treasures and Spanish Gold is the topic of the Miami
Hardscrabble presentation Wednesday at the Bullion Plaza Cultural Center
and Museum.
Dik Mickle will delve into the stories and myths of treasure in Arizona’s early history. It starts at 6:30pm.

Gila County Health Department Will Have Flu Vaccines October 1
The Gila County Health Department will offer flu vaccines
beginning October 1. The vaccines will be available for infants to adults under
the age of 65. Bring your insurance cards. A $25 fee may be assessed for
adults.
The vaccine for those 65 and older will be available in
upcoming weeks. Those with Medicare Part B will receive flu vaccines at no cost.

Last night Globe Police arrested 26 year old Albert Pacheco
for domestic violence/disorderly conduct and assault after a disturbance on
East Prickley Pear Drive.
Two juveniles were
arrested for shoplifting at a business on Jess Hayes Road.
43 year old Martin Cassadore was arrested for disorderly
conduct at a business on East Ash Street.
32 year old Adam Garcia was arrested on a failure to comply
warrant for hit and run.
A report of threats was taken at a business on Sutherland.
The Gila County Narcotics Task Force arrested 54 year old Jody
Herrera on a child support warrant.
Obituary
Wanda Lee Hickman of Globe passed
away September 11. She was 86. She is survived by 5 children, including Bob
Hickman and Patti Casillas of Globe; 10
grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Wanda
Hickman will be held Saturday (September 21) at 10:am at St. John’s Episcopal
Church.
Memorial donations may be made to

Supervisors Meet Today
The Gila County Board of Supervisors meets this morning
(Tuesday) at 10:00.
The Supervisors will proclaim September 24 to be National
Voter Registration Day in Gila County.
They will consider submitting comments to the US Fish and
Wildlife Service about the Proposed Revision to the Nonessential Experimental
Population of the Mexican Wolf and the implementation of a Management Plan.

Haunted House Planning Meeting Change
The Haunted House planning meeting that was scheduled for
this Saturday at the Globe Public Library has been changed to Wednesday at 6:30pm.

The Gila
Community College Gila Pueblo Campus is forming a Choir that will perform throughout the
community at special events.

Boys and Girls Club Day for Kids
The Globe Branch of the East Valley Boys and Girls Clubs will
have their annual Day for Kids event this Saturday (September 21) at the Gila
County Fair.
They’ll have games and sports, a coloring contest, snacks
and beverages, and a chance to win fun prizes.
Look for the signs at the Fair that will direct you to the
Day for Kids booth.

Charles A. Bejarano School Family Night and Book Fair
The Charles A. Bejarano Elementary School Book Fair is going
on this week, every day from 7:30am to 3:30pm in the library.
They’re selling
raffle tickets for a basket filled with $100 worth of books and other items.
Raffle tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10.
Family Night is tomorrow (Tuesday) from 5:30 to 7:pm at
Charles Bejarano School.

Nobody was hurt in a two vehicle collision Friday afternoon
on East Ash.
Yesterday Globe Police arrested 20 year old Anne Nunez, 59
year old Alejandra Nunez and 31 year old Edward Nunez for organized retail
theft.
43 year old Martin Cassadore was arrested on a Payson
warrant for disorderly conduct.
On Saturday Globe Police arrested two people after a
disturbance at a business on Highway 60. 48 year old William Salter was charged
with shoplifting and disorderly conduct. 66 year old William Lockwood was
arrested on a failure to appear warrant for shoplifting.
21 year old Matthew Walters was arrested for domestic
violence/assault and disorderly conduct Friday night at a business on East Ash.
27 year old Miles Cavey of Mesa was arrested for domestic
violence/disorderly conduct after a
disturbance at a residence on East Carico.
43 year old Kyle Cook was arrested for causing a
disturbance at a business on Highway 60.
72 year old Robert Garrett was arrested Friday for threats and
intimidation.
29 year old Scott Victor was arrested on a failure to comply
warrant for criminal damage.
Officers are investigating burglaries on North Broad Street
and on Third Avenue; criminal damage at a residence on Pinaleno Pass and at a
business on Escudilla; and a report of trespassing
on Devereaux Street
Yesterday the Gila County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 year
old Christopher Keller on a child support warrant and a warrant for possession
of drug paraphernalia.
31 year old Peter Martinez was arrested on a failure to
appear warrant for shoplifting
22 year old Mika Worley was cited and released for no
mandatory insurance.
Deputies took reports of a missing person taken at a
residence on Beer Tree; domestic incidents in Six Shooter Canyon and on Roberts
Drive; criminal damage to a residence on Weavers Circle; theft reports taken in
Claypool, on Waliman Road, Railroad Avenue, and in Miami Gardens; and fraud
reports taken on Roberts Drive and on Bixby.
