Traffic Restricted to One Lane Wednesday on Ice House Canyon Road

Traffic will be restricted to one lane tomorrow (Wednesday) between 6:am and 2:pm on a portion of Ice House Canyon Road.

The City of Globe will install  new water equipment in that area but there will be no interruption in water service.

Lane Closures on S. Broad Street

The City of Globe and APS will be replacing utility poles tomorrow (Thursday) on South Broad Street in the area of the Globe Public Library.

There will be partial lane closures throughout the day. Barricades will be set up and police officers will help direct traffic.

DPS Out in Force Over Thanksgiving Holiday

The Arizona Department of Public Safety will be out in force on Wednesday as part of Operation Safe Passage.

The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year and Operation Safe Passage is designed to get drivers to their destinations safely.

DPS officers will be stationed every 10 miles on Interstates 8, 10, 17 and 40 in rural areas and about every two miles in metropolitan areas.

DPS says the goal is to be able to respond to traffic incidents quickly and execute a “zero tolerance” approach to traffic infractions such as speeding, unsafe lane changes and following other cars too closely.

400 Block of South High Street Becomes One Way November 1

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday), the 400 block of South High Street will be a one way street. This is the street in front of Globe High School and the Globe School District office.

Traffic will flow from Ash Street north to Maple Street.

Traffic Change on South High Street Beginning November 1

The City of Globe announces an upcoming traffic change to the 400 block of South High Street in Globe. This is the street in front of Globe High School and the Globe Schools District Office.

The 400 block of South High Street will become a one way street beginning Monday, November 1. Traffic will flow from Ash Street north to Maple Street. This change is being made to prepare for the pedestrian crosswalk signal that will be installed later this year at the Ash and High Street intersection.

There will be concentrated police patrols in this area to enforce the change and to ensure a smooth transition.
