Arizona Parks to Get $20M from Stimulus Funds

The US Interior Department has released information about more than $750 million going to National Park Service projects. Arizona will receive more than $20 million of the stimulus funding. Half of it goes to Grand Canyon National Park, the rest to 18 other parks, monuments and historic sites.

The Tonto National Forest will receive $125,000 to rehabilitate the Park Administration Building to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. $55,000 will correct drainage deficiencies on trails to protect the Casa Grande Ruins.

Additional funding through the Federal Highway Administration will improve park roads.
