Copper Prices Stabilizing

The Arizona Daily Star reports that copper prices appear to be stabilizing. Even though they are nowhere near the record prices of more than $4 a pound reached last summer, they have been steadily rising since the beginning of the year. In the past 60 days, copper prices have risen from around $1.40 a pound to $2.18. Arizona Department of Mines chief mining engineer Nyal Niemuth says the infrastructure spending expected from the stimulus packages in the United States and China could benefit the copper industry.
