Arizona Receives EPA Funds to Reduce
Diesel Emissions

ArizonaRoadsideDieselService

The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $1.7 million in Economic Recovery Funding to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. The money will be used to reduce diesel emissions. The EPA says clean diesel projects reduce early deaths, asthma attacks and other health problems. The agency says this will also create jobs and boost local economies. Arizona will use the funding to implement a truck stop electrification project along the US-Mexico border. The project allows truckers to “plug in” so they don’t have to run and idle their trucks. This will result in less diesel emissions.
