Former Television Reporter Matt Quinn Dies in Texas Wildfire

Former television news reporter Matt Quinn and his wife Cathy were among three people killed Thursday in Texas wildfires. Quinn's son and daughter Betsy and Ted Quinn currently live in Globe. Betsy Quinn was a reporter for KIKO News for four years.

The fires destroyed dozens of homes in rural Texas and scorched more than 100,000 acres. Cathy Quinn's adult son Chris suffered burns and was being treated Friday at the Parkland Memorial Hospital burn unit in Dallas.

Matt Quinn worked for ABC News before moving to WFAA-TV in Dallas in 1980. He stayed at WFAA until his retirement in the early 1990's.
