SR 87 Southbound Lanes Will Close on Monday

Photo:FHA

The Arizona Department of Transportation is closing the southbound lanes of State Route 87 near Sunflower from May 4 through May 20. Traffic will be shifted to one lane in each direction on the northbound lanes.

Both southbound lanes at the SR 188 junction will close at 9:pm Monday. Traffic will be routed through Globe until 5:am. At that time, one lane in each direction will be opened to traffic on Highway 87’s usual northbound lanes.

The construction activity is part of the work to repair the highway and slope affected by last year’s landslide near Slate Creek.
