Arizona Food Prices Drop 5%

Arizona Food Prices dropped nearly 5% over the past three months. The Arizona Farm Bureau says the total cost of 16 basic grocery items is $2.36 less than it was three months ago. The informal Market Basket Survey shows that prices are 46 cents higher than this time last year.

Of the 16 items, 10 of them decreased in price and six increased. Sliced deli ham had the greatest decrease in price. It dropped $1.07 to $3.92 a pound. Shredded cheese increased the most. Its price went up 79 cents to $4.43 a pound.
