The Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce announces that David Cook has been named Gila County Rancher of the Year. Cook is the owner of DC Cattle Co. He was honored at the annual Salute to Ranching on Dec. 16 at the Apache Gold Casino. Cook has been working with the US Forest Service to return cattle to public lands. He also works with several national cattle and ranching boards.
Cindy Tidwell Shelton was honored as Wrangler of the Year. Shelton grew up with ranching and continues her work through the University of Arizona agriculture and alumni program, and in the business arena.
