A major weather change is expected this wekend. A wet Pacific low pressure system and associated cold front will sweep across Arizona Saturday and Saturday night. This will bring much colder temperatures and widespread showers.
Snow levels are expected to fall below 2,000 feet in eastern Maricopa County and parts of Gila County by Sunday morning. One to three inches of new snow is possible in the Globe-Miami area. Snow levels will be higher across the higher terrain and may lead to difficult driving conditions on Highway 60 as well as Arizona highways 87, 88 and 188.
Temperatures will quickly return to normal or above normal by Tuesday.
