ONEBOOKAZ in April

As we get ready to celebrate the state Centennial in 2012, Secretary of State Ken Bennett and the Arizona State Library are kicking off the annual ONEBOOKAZ event. This year’s focus is on Arizona history.

ONEBOOKAZ was created to bring communities together through literature. Beginning in April of every year, the program encourages communities across the state to read the same book at the same time and to participate in discussions and programs centered around the book.

This year’s books are Hopi Summer: Letters from Ethel to Maud by Carolyn O’Bagy Davis and Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Joseph Bruchac.

Both of these books are available at all Gila County libraries.

For more information about ONEBOOKAZ and a list of events around the state, visit www.onebookaz.org.
