Former Globe and Miami High School Coach Paul Petty passed away April 26 in Saint Cloud, Florida at the age of 82.
Coach Petty was a member of the Arizona Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Miami High School Sports Hall of Fame, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Hall of Fame, and Hardin-Simmons University Athletic Hall of Fame. He received the 1997 Outstanding Coaches Award from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He was the head coach of multiple All Star football games over six decades.
A memorial service for Coach Paul Petty will be held in Arizona this summer. Details will be released by his family as plans materialize.
