Gila Community College Governing Board has reversed its decision to alter the tuition schedule.
The Payson Roundup reports that instead of charging $88 a credit hour, the board reverted to the former schedule, which gives a discount to students who take between two and six credit hours.
At its meeting last week the board did agree to add a 25% tuition increase and charge seniors 60 and older 25% of the $88.
The new schedule should bring in an additional $350,000 with additional money from charging seniors partial tuition. This will still fall short of filling a $630,000 deficit. Senior Dean Stephen Cullen says he hopes additional enrollment will make up the difference.
