Fire crews are battling a wildfire that broke out Monday on the San Carlos Apache Reservation near Stanley Butte. As of 9:00 last night, the fire was estimated to be between 1,000 and 1,200 acres.
A Bureau of Indian Affairs spokeswoman told ABC15 in Phoenix that the fire is primarily spreading north. No evacuations have been ordered yet but several ranch houses may be at risk in the future.
