Globe Moose Lodge Issues Apology

Globe Moose Lodge sent this Public Notice to the local media:
This message of apology to the public is intended to set the record straight on several issues concerning the not so favorable behavior of certain members of Loyal Order of Moose, Globe Lodge 2014 located on highway 60 in Claypool Arizona. Our lodge which is registered with the Arizona Corporation Commission, is a local business and is independent of Moose International, is operated and directed by the officers of our local lodge. We try hard to follow the guidelines of Moose International.

In the past this lodge developed a reputation of being a low class organization attracting undesirables that drank too much and offended local residents with their foul mouth sexist jokes and innuendos.

Unfortunately most fraternal organization receive a bad rep when it come to the drinking issue, but and it should also be known that fraternal organizations generally have by-laws that forbid this type of irresponsible behavior but unfortunately a few bad apples get past our good intentions.

As far as a foul mouthed sexist jokes and innuendos’ go, I as administrator for Globe Lodge 2014 would ask the public to please except our apology for the behavior of some of our members in the past. The seriousness of this issue has been discussed with the membership and their attention was directed to the particular Article in our By-laws that addresses such behavior.

In the not too distant past an event similar to the ones I just described happened and much discussion and debate occurred because of this issue both in and outside the lodge. During this period in time I was not involved with the Loyal Order of Moose and had no idea of lodge procedures but I was concerned about the incident. Some time afterward I was asked to help Globe Lodge 2014 by filling the administrator’s position. After some training, time and experience I found it necessary to write this letter of apology to the public and help the Lodge Governor realign our local lodge with the goals and reason of being of this family fraternity. The Loyal Order of Moose is dedicated to the support and care of the children and the elderly at Moose Heart, and Moose Haven, and Globe Moose Lodge 2014 helps these residents through donations of funds and needed articles.

I hope that this apology be accepted by the public and especially those most offended who asked that no names be attached to this letter.

Sincerely,
Jose Angel Medina Sr.
Administrator
