Police Log

Globe Fire Department and Tri City Fire Department responded when some people became stuck in an elevator at the Gila County Courthouse. All of the occupants were safely removed. The malfunction is believed to be weather related.

Local fire agencies responded to a brush fire yesterday evening in the Ice House Canyon area. The fire was caused by lightning. It was controlled and turned over to the Forest Service.

Miami Police answered two medical calls. An elderly woman fell and injured herself. She was taken to Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center. Later a man wen into seizures, possibly brought on by alcohol consumption. He was also taken to the hospital.

A car struck another car from behind in Miami after railroad arms malfunctioned and caused traffic to back up. A 16 year old juvenile received a citation.

Nobody was hurt in a two vehicle accident at the Claypool Post Office. The case is under investigation.

Gila County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 year old Charles White on a failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

20 year old Jonathon Speer was arrested on a failure to comply warrant for drug paraphernalia.

Deputies are investigating criminal damage to a vehicle at Four Star Mobile Home Park.

Pinal County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46 year old Benjamin Mason of Globe on warrants for child support and trespassing.

Department of Public Safety in Tucson arrested 48 year old Wilfred Pechuli of San Carlos on a failure to comply warrant for a bad check.

Globe Police are investigating criminal damage at a business on Jess Hayes Road.
