Globe Ranger District has released its final update on its two managed fires. The 650 fire in the Superstition Mountains is about 3,800 acres in size and is showing very little activity. Management ignitions continue on the Frio fire to protect power lines. The Frio fire in the Pinal Mountains has burned around 2,300 acres.
Rain is projected for the next seven days along with cooler temperatures and higher humidity. Fire specialists predict very little further activity on these fires. With reduced fire activity, smoke impacts will be lessened considerably.
Globe Ranger District thanks the community for its support and understanding. Ranger Rick Reitz says there are now 6,000 fewer acres of hazardous fuels to feed a local catstrophic wildfire.
