Police Log

Nobody was hurt in an accident Friday afternoon in the area of South Seventh Street.

There were no injuries in an accident Friday evening at Kaiser Crossing. A driver was cited for failure to control a vehicle to avoid an accident.

Last night the Gila County Task Force assisted the Department of Public Safety with a traffic stop on Highway 60. This resulted in the recovery of 35 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $24,000. 19 year old Nicole Nadora of Phoenix was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana for sale and possesion of drug paraphernalia. A 17 year old juvenile was arrested on the same charges.

About 1:00 this morning a Gila County Sheriff’s deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle on Oasis Drive. The car was taken by a person who was staying at the residence while the owner was asleep. A few hours later the car was returned but the owner wanted to pursue charges. 35 year old Christopher Armstrong of Oklahoma was arrested and booked into the Gila County Jail.

Deputies are investigating a theft at a residence on Russlell Road and criminal damage to a shed in August Hills Mobile Home Park.

Yesterday afternoon Globe Police arrested 57 year old Teresa Yniguez on a contempt of court warrant for issuing a bad check.

26 year old Victor Morales was arrested yesterday for disorderly conduct.

49 year old Eddie Benevediz was arrested Saturday after a followup investigation of an assault.

32 year old Derrick Gonzales was arrested on a child support warrant.

38 year old Luis Sanchez was arrested for passing a counterfeit bill at the Santee Circle K.

An officer observed a one vehicle accident while patrolling Broad Street late Saturday night. 25 year old Cynthia Henry was arrested for extreme DUI.

35 year old Frank Membrila was arrested Friday for shoplifting.

Officers are investigating a report of domestic disorderly conduct taken on Manzanita Drive; a theft at the Swap Meet; shoplifting at the Hunter Street Circle K; shoplifting at a business on North US 60; a burglary from a mini storage unit; and a burglary at an address on Euclid..
