FBI and BIA Looking for San Carlos Woman Charged with Theft and Embezzlement

A federal grand jury in Phoenix recently indicted 33 year old Holly Faye Youvella of San Carlos for Embezzlement and Theft of Tribal Funds. After she was indicted on October 25, an arrest warrant was issued but the FBI and the BIA have been unable to locate her.

Youvella is accused of embezzling more than $260,000 when she was bookkeeper for the Peridot Shopping Center. She cashed more than 200 fraudulent checks drawn from the shopping center’s checking account. She is also accused of stealing more than $4,000 by directing fraudulent electronic payments from the shopping center’s account to personal credit and utility accounts.

Peridot Shopping Center is owned by the San Carlos Apache Tribe.

Convictions for Embezzlement and Theft of Tribal Funds carry a maximum penalty of 5 years, a $250,000 fine or both.
