The Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce is hoping the third time is the charm with the Mining Rocks celebration planned for Saturday, May 12 at Bullion Plaza in Miami. Bad weather has forced the cancellation of this celebration of mining twice already, but organizers think the May date will be perfect for the event.
Entertainment, arts and crafts, games and mining displays are planned for the festival, which will run from noon until 5 pm in the park in front of Bullion Plaza. The museum will have several renovations completed by then and they will be open to the public.
Vendors interested in having arts and crafts, food or game booths can pick up an application at the chamber or download it from the chamber website at www.globemiamichamber.com. For more information, call 425-4495.
