Some Rural Areas Reach $4 a Gallon Gas

AAA Arizona says the average statewide fuel price rose 0.6% over the past week to just under $3.90 a gallon. The nationwide average increased 4 cents to an average of just over $3.92 a gallon.

Even though gas prices in the major metropolitan areas and the statewide average are still under the $4.00 mark, 25 rural areas across Arizona have reached or surpassed that amount. This is in large part due to added transporattion costs to deliver fuel to those areas.

Here in Globe-Miami the average price is around $3.90 a gallon.
