The Gila County Schools Office is hosting a “Star Party” tonight (Thursday), in association with the Arizona Science Foundation and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory
in Tucson. The Star Party will be at the upper fields of the Globe Community Center
from 6:30 until 9:pm.
Local fifth grade students will be guiding the star gazing.
Their teachers have been preparing them with a “Teaching With Telescopes”
project. The fields will be covered with “Gallileoscopes” constructed by
student teams, along with larger professional telescopes provided by the NOAO
astronomers.
You are invited to join the students, families and teachers
at the First Gila County Star Party.
