Construction begins next Monday (June 11) on the new
pedestrian signal next to Globe High School at the intersection of US 60 and
High Street.
The $142,000 Highway Safety Improvement Program project also
includes new pedestrian crosswalks, and sidewalk, curb and gutter improvements.
Work hours will be 8:am to 5:pm Monday through Friday. The
right lanes of east and westbound US 60 will be closed during work hours.
There may be short delays while traffic is directed into one lane through the
work zone.
A flier explaining the use of the new signal will be
available at Globe City Hall, the Globe Police Department and the Globe Fire
Department..
Students attending Globe High School will be given instructions on how to use the signal at the start of the new school year.
