Political Sign Tampering a Class 2 Misdemeanor

The Gila County Elections Department is once again hearing about political sign tampering.

Elections Director Linda Eastlick reminds everyone that it is a Class 2 Misdemeanor  to remove, alter, deface or cover any political sign of any candidate for public office. This also applies to political mailers, handouts, flyers or other printed materials that are delivered to a resident.

This statute applies from 45 days before the Primary Election until 7 days after the General Election.
