Women in Arizona's CD1 Paid 86% of Amount Paid Men

A new analysis of US Census data measures the wage gap between women and men by Congressional District. The analysis was conducted by the National Partnership for Women and Families.

The analysis shows that the median yearly pay for women in Arizona is nearly $6,500 less than the median yearly pay for Arizona men. That’s 85 cents for every dollar.

Nationally, full time working women are paid only 77 cents for every dollar paid to full time working men.

Here in Arizona’s Congressional District 1, the median pay for women is 86%. That’s a gap of nearly $5,500 a year.
