Globe Council Special Meeting Today


The Globe City Council is having a Special Meeting this evening (Thursday) at 5:30.

There will be an Executive Session to discuss the contract for the City Manager.

Following the Executive Session, the council will take action to appoint a City Manager.

    Congratulations to Mr. Brent D. Billingsley, AICP, CFM, Globe, Arizona's next City Manager.

    Brent D. Billingsley is a seasoned technical professional with over sixteen years of experience. Brent previously served as Development Services Director for Maricopa, Arizona. Mr. Billingsley oversaw eight divisions within Maricopa's organizational
    structure including Public Works, Transportation, Planning, Building Safety, Engineering, Facilities, Code Enforcement, and Fleet Operations. Since he began with the City of Maricopa in 2005, he successfully integrated Maricopa into multiple regional, bi-county and statewide plans and strategies.

    Mr. Billingsley's professional repertoire includes project management, public works administration, transportation planning, community planning, transit, air quality, Section 208 area-wide water quality, economic development, community development block grants (CDBG), environmental justice/Title VI, information technology management, and population estimation and projection. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of rural transit, access management, transportation planning, financial assurances, Safe Routes to School, rural infrastructure finance, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.

    He is a graduate of Northern Arizona University (NAU), a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a ASFPM Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). Mr. Billingsley is a proud parent and will soon reside with his family in Globe, Arizona.

    The City Council is expected formally enter into an employment contract with Mr. Billingsley on 19, November 2012; his projected first day at work will be 2, January 2013.
