Drivers who travel through Arizona’s high country need to be aware of some annual road closures
as the winter season begins. Some highways in the White Mountains are closed
each winter due to the significant amount of snowfall.
State Route 473 to Hawley Lake will be closed beginning this
Thursday (November 15).
State Route 261 between Big Lake and State Route 260 will
close on December 17.
State Route 273 between Sunrise Park and Big Lake will also
close on December 17.
