The subject of Wednesday's Miami Hardscrabble
program is the Van Dyke Copper Mine.
Geologist Tim Marsh will talk about the copper deposit underneath Miami and the history that led to
the discovery of that deposit in 1916. He will describe the efforts that have
been made since then to recover the 1.3 billion pounds of copper that are
believed to be there.
The presentation begins at 6:30pm at Bullion Plaza Museum
and Cultural Center.
