The new Frazer
Institute Annual Survey of Mining Companies ranks Arizona 15th in
the world in its assessment of our current mineral potential. That’s up from 31st
last year.
Three US states are in the top 10 jurisdictions in terms of
public policy factors that encourage or discourage investment. They are
Wyoming, Nevada and Utah.
The Arizona Geology blog reports that Arizona ranks 28th
out of 96 jurisdictions worldwide in how mining companies rank “public policy
factors such as taxation and regulation affect exploration investment."
