The Arizona Department of Transportation is replacing nearly
1,000 crosswalk signals in seven southern Arizona counties.
The 92 pedestrian crossing signals in Globe, Miami and
Claypool will be updated beginning Monday, April 15. The work to replace a module
inside the signal boxes should only take about 15 minutes for each one so no
travel restrictions are expected to occur while the work is being done.
The new signals will have a digital count down clock instead
of the images telling the pedestrian to
walk or wait.
