The Gila County DUI Task Force is conducting a DUI
enforcement checkpoint tonight (Friday) from 8:pm until 2:am on Highway 70 at the High
Desert Middle School intersection.
The DUI Task Force is made up of officers from the
Department of Public Safety, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, and the Globe,
Miami and San Carlos Police Departments.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to identify and remove
intoxicated drivers from the highway.
In addition to the checkpoint, roving patrols are working
throughout the county over the holiday weekend.
