A rock containment project on US 60 within the San Carlos
and White Mountain Apache Reservations will begin on Tuesday, October 15. The
boundaries are 35 miles north of Globe and about 18 miles south of Show Low.
The $1 million project includes repairing rock containment
fences and support structures, rock scaling, minor pavement widening and
resurfacing, grading excavation ditches and cleaning culverts.
The project will
continue into January, when it will be shut down for the winter and resume in the
spring of 2014.
Work hours will be 7:am to 5:pm Monday through Thursday.
There will be total lane closures and one-way lane closures at different times
during the project. Closures could last up to 30 minutes.
