Two local men were arrested in Mesa on Friday in connection
with the October 14 drive-by shooting at the Claypool Safeway parking lot.
An extensive investigation by the Globe Police Department has
linked 19 year old David Richards and 19 year old Brandon Twohey to the
shooting. Investigators were able to develop probable cause to obtain arrest
warrants for both suspects. During the course of the investigation it was
learned that the men had left the local
area and fled to Mesa.
Investigators sought assistance from the U.S. Marshals
East Valley Fugitive Task Force. Through various sources it was learned that
the suspects were staying at a Mesa motel.
On Friday, the Fugitive Task Force and Mesa Police served
the arrest warrants at the motel. Twohey and Richards were taken into custody
without incident.
