The Globe Police Department has been awarded two grants from
the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
An $8,000 DUI grant will be used to pay officers overtime to
complete DUI enforcement details and educating the public about impaired
driving.
The money from a $4,000 traffic enforcement grant will be
used to pay officers overtime to complete traffic enforcement in areas such as
aggressive driving, speed enforcement,
seatbelt violations and red light violations.
Starting tomorrow (December 19) and continuing through the
rest of December, Globe Police officers will be out in force, patrolling for
these violations over the Holiday season.
