The tribal ceremonial items purchased at a controversial
auction in France are on their way back to Arizona.
The Annenberg Foundation paid more than $500,000 for the
items at the auction so that they could return them to the Hopi and two Apache
tribes, including the San Carlos Apache tribe.
The tribes consider the items to be living beings and the foundation
says it will honor the request of the tribes to treat them with reverence
during the trip.
