Task Force Makes Drug Arrests

The Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force made a lot of drug arrests on Monday.

The Sheriff’s Detention Staff  reported suspicious activity among inmates at the Globe and Payson jails. An investigation showed that Sydnee Lain Klabbatz had smuggled black tar heroin into the jail when she was booked. Seven other inmates were arrested on charges ranging from possession of a narcotic drug to promoting prison contraband.

A traffic stop later in the day led to a warrant to search a room at the Globe Motel 6.

The Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force seized about 26 grams of heroin, 34 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of marijuana, a semi-automatic hand gun, and more than $1,000 in US currency. Four people were arrested on charges from transportation of a dangerous drug for sale to money laundering.
