Miami Primary Election Set for August 26

The Town of Miami announces that the Primary Election has been set for Tuesday, August 26.

Voters will elect four Council members. Any candidate who receives a majority of the votes in the primary will be declared elected without running in the General Election.

Voters will also choose whether or not to approve a Permanent Base Adjustment to the state-imposed budget limitation.

Candidate packets will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office beginning Monday, April 28. Candidate packets must be turned in by 5:pm on Wednesday, May 28.

The deadline to register to vote in the August Primary is July 28.

This election will not be entirely by mail as it has been  in the past because it is being conducted by the Gila County Election Department. This is due to the Consolidated Elections Law passed by the Arizona Legislature in 2012.

You will receive your ballot in the mail around July 31 if you are on the permanent early ballot list and are registered with a recognized political party. If you are an Independent, you will only receive a ballot only if you request one.
