Landfill To Accept Greenwaste Free on April 18

Image:Wiki

The Russell Gulch Landfill will accept greenwaste at no charge on Saturday, April 18, in honor of Earth Day. Greenwaste includes tree limbs, brush, grass clippings and leaves.

Gila County Public Works Division announces that paper recycling has increased 17% in the last year. Bins are located at Fry’s, on Broad Street across from the VFW, and at the parking lot next to the Court House. The City of Globe has bins at the Globe Post office and at Globe High, Copper Rim, High Desert, Holy Angels, Liberty and Destiny Schools. A bin is located in the San Carlos area at the Mt. Turnbull Sanitation Yard and a bin is being placed at Roosevelt Estates.

There are three locations to drop off plastic bottles: the Russell Gulch Landfill, Fry’s and the Court House.

The Russell Gulch Landfill is the drop off site for discarded computers, printers and monitors. You can also drop off motor oil and car batteries. Residents can bring in 5 tires a year for free with the rim removed, and $2.00 a tire after that.
Landfill hours are 6:am until 4:pm Monday through Saturday.
