A new Channel 8-ASU poll shows that most Arizona voters would support a temporary 1% sales tax increase to help balance the state budget. The Tucson Citizen reports that 60% say they would support the increase, 35% oppose it.

Arizona has a projected $3 billion shortfall in the next state budget. Governor Brewer has proposed the temporary tax increase to help balance the next several budgets.
