Greer Lodge Remains Open After Fire

The popular Greer Lodge in the White Mountains is still open following a fire that destroyed the main lodge early Tuesday morning. Only one of the ten rooms of the main lodge was occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The Arizona Republic reports that the Greer Fire Department and the Apache County Sheriff’s Office have requested that a fire investigator and a Phoenix unit of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives determine the cause of the fire.

Hotel officials say the rest of Greer Lodge remains open. They say they will rebuild the lodge building. And they will replace the lodge’s restaurant quickly by reopening the nearby Neon Moon restaurant that closed in December.
