Pinal Mountain Fires Allowed to Burn

Tonto National Forest officials say the current monsoon humidity makes fast spreading of wildfires less likely. Therefore, they are able to allow lightning-caused fires to play their natural role in forest ecosystems.

You can expect to see light to moderate smoke throughout the day, with very little smoke impact to the Globe-Miami area.

Globe Ranger District is currently monitoring two lightning caused wildfires in the Pinal Mountain range.

For more information call the Globe Ranger District at 402-6200.
