Tonto National Forest officials have announced a temporary
closure at the Ponderosa Campground because of a bear attack. The closure is
effective until August 31 unless rescinded sooner.
A 74 year old woman received non-life-threatening injuries
early yesterday morning when a bear ripped
a hole in her tent and clawed at her.
