The Miami Unified School District will have a Special
Election for a Budget Override Increase on Tuesday, November 5. The Election
will be a vote by mail ballot only.
The purpose of the election is to request voter approval to
continue authorization for the District to exceed its statutory budget limit by
10%.
Ballots will be mailed on October 10.
Gila County School Superintendent Linda O’Dell is preparing
an informational pamphlet that will be mailed to each household in the district
with one or more registered electors.
Anyone who wishes to submit a “Pro” or “Con” statement may
do so by mail or hand delivery to the Gila County School Superintendent’s Office
no later than 5:pm Friday, August 9. The statement must be signed and include
the name of the District, the author’s name, address and telephone number, and
permission for the name to be printed in the informational pamphlet.
The last
day to register and be eligible to vote in this election is Monday, October 7.
