The lobbying firm that has been representing Gila Community
College before the state legislature has announced that it is no longer working
for GCC or for Eastern Arizona College.
The Payson Roundup reports that this was prompted by a
controversy about a bill that would allow provisional community colleges like
Gila Community College to receive the same workforce development funds that
regular community colleges receive. The bill is opposed by all of the community
colleges in Arizona, including Eastern Arizona College.
This created a conflict of interest for the Triadvocates
lobbying firm because it represented both GCC and EAC.
Eastern Arizona College provides accreditation and
administrative services to Gila Communnity College.
