Arizona Centennial Ride on February 11

Motorcycle riders from all over the country will participate in the Arizona Centennial Ride and parade to the State Capitol on Saturday, February 11.

American Legion Riders invite everyone who would like to ride down from Globe as a group to meet at Judy’s Cookhouse at 8:30am on February 11.

AZ Centennial Stamp Unveiled

The US Postal Service has unveiled a first class stamp commemorating next year’s Arizona centennial.

The Arizona Republic reports that native Arizona artist Ed Mell designed the stamp which features Cathedral Rock in Sedona.

The new stamp will be available across the country on February 14.

A 10- by 15-foot replica was displayed outside the Prescott Courthouse on Friday afternoon.

Local Arizona Centennial Event Planning Meetings on Tuesdays

The Gila Historical Museum Board of Directors has taken on the assignment of coordinating the Globe-Miami area events for the Arizona Centennisal Celebration.

A committee of those interested in this project meets on Tuesdays at Noon at the Gila County Historuical Museum. Any group planning an event is invited to attend these meetings.
