Our Lady's Fiesta 2013

Everyone is invited to Our Lady’s Fiesta 2013 on Sunday (November 3).

There will be great home made food, games for the kids, crafts and sweet booths, a silent gift basket auction, raffles and entertainment.

It’s from 9:am to 2:pm Sunday at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami.

Fall Festival in Globe This Weekend

The annual Fall Festival will be held Friday and Saturday (October 25 and 26) at the corner of Broad and Oak in downtown Globe.

Friday’s activities from 5 to 8:pm include carnival games, food, the annual Bring Your Own Pumpkin carving contest, the Oak Street Pumpkin Roll fundraiser, live music and a Vendor’s Marketplace.

The Ghosts of Globe downtown walking tour will take place on Saturday, October 26  from 6 to 8:pm.

Veterans Day Events in Miami

There will be a Veterans Day Parade, Ceremony and Cookout in Miami on Veterans Day, November 11.

The parade starts at 10:20am at the Bullion Plaza Museum and Cultural Center. It will move down Sullivan Street to the Miami Veterans Memorial Park. 

Entry forms may be picked up at Miami Town Hall and must be turned in by 5:pm November 8. Trophies will be awarded for the top three entries.

You may drive in the parade, march  or walk, ride a bike, ride a motorcycle and you may enter your pet. Residents from both Globe and Miami are invited to enter the parade.

The Veterans Day Ceremony begins immediately following the parade at about 11:am.

A hot dog cook out will take place right after the ceremony. Donations will be gladly accepted for the cookout.

Globe SummerFest

The Globe SummerFest will be held tomorrow (Saturday) from 5 to 8:30pm. It will be on Oak Street in downtown Globe.

The carnival-style event features music, games, cupcake walks, burgers, root bear floats and iced treats, water balloons and more fun to coll you off. This year there will also be a Cardboard Car Show and a family movie.

Other activities include a Watermelon Carving Challenge and a Downtown Sidewalk Chalk Challenge.

Annual Fireworks Display

Freeport McMoRan announces that the annual fireworks display will take place on Thursday, July 4 at 9:pm. 

The display will be atop the historic tailings off Highway 60, across from Walmart.

Holy Angels Cinco de Mayo Fiesta This Saturday

Holy Angels Catholic Church invites the comunity to the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta this Saturday in downtown Globe. The celebration begins at 10:am in the Old Dominion parking lot and continues until 9:pm.

There will be a wide selection of crafts and lots of food booths, including Mexican food, frybread, hot dogs and hamburgers. There will also be cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones and nachos.

Activities also include live music and games for the kids.

Mother's Day Tea Party Event This Sunday


The annual Spring Mother’s Day Tea Party will be held Sunday (April 28) at the Dream Manor Inn. It’s from 2 to 4:pm.

The event includes a luncheon, music, lots of prizes and a fashion show.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds to help southern Gila County children.

The Town of Miami will hold its “Picnic in the Park” on Saturday, May 11 at 11:am. The cost is $5 a person.

The menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chili beans, drinks and dessert.

Community Forum About Possible Inspiration Education Center


A Community Forum about the Inspiration Community Education Center will be held Wednesday evening in Miami and Thursday evening in Globe.

The discussion will be about the possible development of the old Inspiration School site for multi-generational education and health services for children and families in Globe-Miami and surrounding communities.

The forums will provide the opportunity to share community needs and to look for interested public and private partners.

The forums are from 6 to 7:pm Wednesday at Miami Town Hall and Thursday at Globe City Hall.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is having a Potato Bake on Friday from 5 until 8:pm. The cost is $2.50.

There will also be a Potato Head Contest and a Singing Contest.

All proceeds will benefit St. Paul’s food baskets for the community.

Community Thanksgiving Meals Served


The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served Wednesday from 5 to 7:pm at St. Paul’s Methodist Church.
The event is sponsored by the Ministerial Association with contributions from the Dream Manor Inn,  Joe’s Broad Street Grill and Safeway.
This Thanksgiving dinner is free and open to everyone.


Our Lady’s St. Vincent de Paul is having its annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner on Thursday from 4 to 7:pm.
Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.


The Globe Active Adult Center will have its Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday.

The Miami Senior Center is serving a Thanksgiving Lunch at noon on Thursday. Music will be provided by Neto Vasquez.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner November 21


The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at St. Paul’s Methodist Church.

Serving begins at 5:pm and continues until 7:pm. Volunteers will deliver Thanksgiving meals to the home bound from 4 to 5:pm.

The event is sponsored by the Ministerial Association along with contributions from the Dream Manor Inn, Joe’s Broad Street Grill and Safeway.

Call 425-2340 if you would like to volunteer, or if you have the names and addresses of people who will need to have meals delivered.

The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is free and open to everyone.

Miami 'Beach' Saturday Night


The Friends of Miami present a Miami “Beach” event Saturday night from 6:30 to 10:30pm at Miami Veteran’s Park. It includes food, fun and live music by the band Jaded.

A barbecue dinner will be served. The cost is $8 at the door.

Globe Easter Parade

The Fourth Annual Easter Parade in Globe begins Saturday at 9:30am at the historic train depot.

Contestants will walk the sidewlks of Broad Street and back to the Center for the Arts where winners will be announced around 11:30. Local businesses will help judge the best entries in four categories.

The first free showing of the 1948 claassic film “Easter Parade” begins at noon in the historic courtroom theater. There will be another showing at 3:pm.

Easter Sunrise Service

The community is invited to the Easter Sunrise Service at Dream Manor Inn on Sunday morning at 6:30.

An offering will be taken for the needy in our community. Breakfast will follow the service, hosted by Carl and Rebecca Williams of Dream Manor Inn.

This annual event is sponsored by the Gila County Ministerial Association.

Heritage Health Care Easter Egg Hunt

Heritage Health Care Center is having a community Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow (Friday) from 3 to 6:pm.

They have thousands of eggs and several prizes to give away, plus a pinata.

The Easter Bunny will be there for photos and hot dogs will be served to everyone who attends.

'Copper Coffee' Event on Saturday

The 29th annual Copper Coffee takes place Saturday at the Cobre Valley Country Club from 10:am until Noon.

The Pinal Mountain chapter of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Association of Mining Engineers invites the community to attend. There is no charge but donations will be accepted to support an annual scholarship and activities for local students.
