Miami Fiesta This Saturday

The Miami Fiesta starts at 9:am Saturday at Bullion Plaza Park. It continues until 11:pm.

The event includes performances by Lynn’s School of Dance, the Copper Country Riders, the Gila County Cinderella Dance Group, and an Elvis Show.

The Chihuahua Races take place from 3:30 to 5:pm.

A Dance Contest at 5:30pm  will be followed by a Street Dance from 7 to 11:pm featuring Neto Vasquez and the band “Imagine.”

Miami Fiesta is This Saturday

The Miami Fiesta takes place this Saturday (September 14).

The event includes the famous chihuahua races. The Fiesta Committee is also looking for pictures and bios of Miami’s Hispanic citizens who had an influence on the Fiesta. You can bring the pictures and information to Miami Town Hall or call 473-4403.

Miami Fiesta on Saturday


The Miami Fiesta takes place Saturday at the Bullion Plaza Park from 9:am until 10:pm.

Events include the famous Chihuahua Races at 3:30pm and the Dance Under the Stars from 7 to 11:pm. Music by Neto Vasquez and the Band Imagine.

Miami Fiesta Sub Committee Meeting


The Town of Miami Fiesta Subcommittee meets Tuesday at 6:pm in the Miami Town Council Chambers.

They will discuss scheduling the entertainment for the Fiesta event on September 15, along with advertising, donation letters and vendor applications.

Miami Fiesta on Saturday at Bullion Plaza

The annual Miami Fiesta begins with an Opening Ceremony Saturday at 9:am. This is followed by a Horse Show at 9:30, a performance by Lynn’s School of Dancing, music performances, pinata breaks at noon, and the famous chihuahua races at 3:30. There will also be a food court and vendor booths.

The event will be on the green in front of the Bullion Plaza Museum.

'Around Miami' Author to be at Miami Fiesta

Author Santos Vega will be at the Miami Fiesta from 10:am until 4:pm Saturday for a book signing. Dr. Vega is the author of the new book Around Miami which presents a pictorial history of the Miami area.

Vega is a Miami native and graduate of Miami High School. He is professor emeritus of the Hispanic Research Center at Arizona State University.

Register Now for Chihuahua Races

The Miami Fiesta on Saturday, September 17 will feature the 13th annual Chihuahua races. Early registration is going on now through Friday at 5:pm. The cost is $7 per dog.

Registration after September 9 will be at the information booth at the Fiesta at a cost of $10 a dog. Register early because this year the race will be limited to 32 Chihuahuas.
