CVIT Openings for Fall Semester

Cobre Valley Institute of Technology has openings in some of their central programs, including the very popular program Fire Science. Other programs include Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, and Graphic Design.

The Cosmetology Program is full and there are only two openings in the Welding Program.

The programs are offered through a partnership with Gila Community College at no cost. They are open to high school juniors from Globe, Miami, San Carlos, Hayden and Superior. They begin on August 7.

The programs are offered through a partnership with Gila Community College. There is no cost to the student for these programs except for Cosmetology. But the fees for the Cosmetology program have been significantly reduced.

The programs are open to high school juniors and seniors from Globe, Miami, San Carlos, Hayden and Superior. Classes begin on August 7.

CVIT Board Vacancy for San Carlos District

The Cobre Valley Institute of Technology Governing Board has a vacancy for a San Carlos School District representative.

Potential board members must complete a short application and participate in an interview.

Application materials are available at the San Carlos School District Administrative Office or the Gila County Schools Office during regular business hours. An application is also available online at www.gilacountyschools.org .

The application deadline is 5:PM Friday, January 4.

CVIT Career and Education Fair

Cobre Valley Institute of Technology and Gila Community College invite high school sophomores and their families to a career and education fair on Wednesday, April 25. It’s from 8:am until 3:pm.

Sophomores from Superior, Miami, Globe, San Carlos and Hayden will be transported by their high schools to the event. All other high schools are invited to join in

CVIT programs include Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Electrical and Instrumentation Technology, Welding Technology, and Graphic Design. Participating agencies include the Gila County Sheriff’s Office and Globe Fire Department.

CVIT Classes Begin August 10

Cobre Valley Institute of Technology central programs classes begin on August 10.

CVIT is offering Career and Technical classes in Certified Nursing Assistant, Fire Service and Electrical/Instrumentation. CVIT has agreements with all local school districts and Gila Community College. This allows students to receive both high school and college credit at no cost.

Any qualified student in the Hayden/Winkelman, Globe, Miami, San Carlos and Superior school districts may register for CVIT central programs. Contact your high school counselor or CVIT’s Career Counselor at 425-8481.
