The Citizens Clean Elections Commission reminds potential candidates that public financing is available to run for legislative and statewide offices in 2014.
Candidates are required to collect $5 qualifying contributions from registered voters. Participating candidates agree to strict spending limits and must attend required workshops and public debates.
The deadline to file as a candidate is May 28 and candidates have until August 19 to collect their $5 contributions.
So far, 79 candidates have expressed interest in using Clean Elections to run for office in 2014.

LD8 Candidate Debate Will Be Held September 12
The Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission will host a
debate for state House of Representatives and Senate candidates in Legislative
District 8 at 6:pm on Wednesday, September 12. The debate will be at Florence
Town Hall.
Legislative District 8 includes parts of Gila and Pinal
Counties.
As a service to voters, the debates will be videotaped and
posted online for those unable to attend in person. The debates can be viewed
on the Clean Elections website within 48 hours after they occur. That’s at www.azcleanelections.gov.
The 2012 general election will take place on November 6. Early
voting begins October 11.
